Join us for a lecture titled “The Role of Expert Opinions in Criminal Proceedings: Legal and Practical Aspects”, which will examine the significance of expert opinions as a distinct form of evidence in criminal cases. The session will explore their legal nature, the procedure for their appointment and admissibility, as well as their judicial evaluation. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of compliance with procedural norms to ensure that expert conclusions remain objective, substantiated, and crucial to delivering a lawful and well-grounded court decision.

About the Speaker

Ms. Sara Bakyt is a Master of Law and a doctoral student at the Higher School of Law, Turan University(Kazakhstan).

In 2021, she graduated with distinction from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a bachelor’s degree in law, and in 2023, she completed her master’s degree in law.

Her research interests focus on criminal procedure law, criminalistics, and forensic examination. She is the author of several scientific articles addressing methodological and practical issues of forensic examination and the role of expert research in criminal proceedings.

Her work also explores innovations in criminal law, methodological advances, and recent legislative changes influencing forensic and procedural practices.
